I read it as spilling alcohol onto trunks saturated with pool water and my answer was intended to say the chlorine in the water will have no effect on the alcohol. If you add salt (which contains Cl-) by Le Chateliers principle the equilibrium would be expected to shift to the left giving more chlorine. It is misused so frequently that it has lost its original meaning and using it is nothing more than a form of what was originally called trolling to begin with. These days, it seems that the trolls (by original meaning of the word) are usually the ones going around calling people trolls. The last being the BEST! Cool short= nice car! joc Thank goddess you are ok!! Atmosphere to Bethany!

Clean a bathroom with straight bleach and no ventilation and you will be sick as a dog, even if you are being careful not to put too much anywhere….it is strong stuff! Seems to me, from past excursions into the chemical unknown, that chlorine and ethanol are used to make Chloral Hydrate, a potent sedative and sleep-inducer, widely used years ago. Chlorine is nasty stuff! Gassed myself (mildly) as a masters student. The accusation, even if it probably applies, really should be reserved. It’s starting to become a peeve for me. i need a website where i can find videos of programms like ” The Elegant Universe ” Originally Posted by PhDemon I wouldn’t try it, you’d probably throw it up before it got to the other end anyway 😛 . I’m sure they have astrophysics as well.

Charlie shrugs and says, ‘When I talked about the Big Bopper she thought it was a hamburger.’ That’s a shame, winding up gingers is a bit of a hobby of mine Brat. As far as I know the only way to get a lot of Cl2 from Cl- (the chloride in sodium chloride/saline) is by electrolysis. I wanted to ask whether in water which contains chlorine and alcohol, chlorine would remove all traces of alcohol in a container such as a test tube and mixed together.Would I be able to test for alcohol traces in say my swimming trunks if I got out of a swimming pool that had alcohol spilled on to it from guest in a hotel? It’s a weird question, I know but it just came up in mind and I seem not to be able to figure out a concrete answer Originally Posted by babe Originally Posted by fizzlooney just go wash your shorts define “shorts” please!Mahalo! I know better now! Luckily I was wearing my safety glasses though as when the vac line went *bang* there was glass everywhere, this was ~15 years ago and I still have a small scar on my hand from some of the shrapnel… I am guessing when the term was first used, it had a genuine intent to describe an unwelcome personality type on a forum, or some other place of social interaction.

They have dozens of science tv series, for specific audiences (from primary school to adult learners). As you so eloquently put it though a small amount of alcohol spilled into a whole pool would be below detection limits… Besides causing extreme discomfort initially, it can quickly disable and kill.

Is there a known maximum amount of pool water that would make testing for a 1.0 oz alcohol spill untestable? How about a 300 gallon spa?

I used to have a spa, and I know alcohol got spilled into it. This effect seems compounded in arid areas where the make-up water added as needs arise contains the typical alkaline dissolved minerals found in desert areas. jocular Often mistaken ignorance for a lack of education, and often considered to be of the none clever variety of person, as often a relative troll, may just want to fit in, and look for the defining one big idea.A trolls idea are often never considered, and only looked upon as baseless fact.Dismissed without thought, as the facts tell us otherwise. So often then the troll becomes confused, he/she thinks they are doing ok ,and putting in some clever input with the best of their thought abilities.Often something a troll may say, may be overlooked, such as the double split experiment using just your eye…Often a troll may become confused, looking for the right section to post, and not finding the section he was hoping buy economics essay
for, like a beginner section for all, and all ideas and thoughts……. Yes. Addiction to Chloral Hydrate was even given a name: “Chlorosis”. joc Kind of like saying, “yeah? well your mom stinks so you are wrong!” It is childish and unproductive. As I get older, it increasingly seems to me Alastair Cook was right when he remarked that, in his opinion there are only two genuine aphrodisiacs: youth and boredom. Chlorine if memory serves, is a powerful lachrymator (what a word, no idea why it popped into mind), is one of the gases used in WW-I, I believe. Hell with the tears! joc She asks what happened to his (younger) girlfriend. Personally, I don’t like the idea of calling someone a troll.

But I think the word has been hijacked by those who dislike something they read and for lack of a reasonable argument against that which they dislike, they use the word troll as a cop out to discribe the one they disagree with. would the chlorine level be different if it is a saline pool?just asking… Originally Posted by PhDemon It was a long time ago — I’ve had many other “incidents” since then… don’t tell me…I’m like a bleeding heart lady and I’d probably try to help you get better *L*…spousy (my nickname for my husband) says I am TOO nice…..I don’t put up with bullshit, at all, from anyone but I am such a soft heart sometimes…..but then again, don’t think I will ever get that “edge” ….then again…I am no mouse!! *L*..Piss me off and you’ll find out all about red hair characteristics !! *L* personified. Is this a confession? Come to think of it, I believe I fit quite snuggly into that category.

Too often, and usually simply because one party disagrees with the other, I see the ad hom accusation of “troll/trolling.” A troll is a clearly defined individual, with set motivations. Near the end, Peggy Sue (Kathleen Turner) is reunited with her high-school sweetheart and ex-husband Charlie (Nicholas Cage). So…if I drank it…if I shit myself, I’d actually be cleaning my drawers instead of soiling them? So what would happen in I poured myself a Clorox and Everclear? Not for drinking, of course.

For reason unknown to me, the presence of dissolved chlorine in pool water always causes the Ph to slowly rise, as a result of some part of the mechanism by which chlorine kills bacteria present in the water.
